After Lidocaine Infusion

You had a lidocaine infusion today.  Your health care provider provided lidocaine to help relieve your body pain.  As you recover, follow the instructions below.

Activity

  • Do not drive or operate heavy equipment. You will need someone else to drive you home.

  • Take it easy the rest of the day.  Avoid lifting heavy objects, pullling and pushing activities.

  • You may return to normal activity tomorrow.

Home Care

  • You may resume your normal diet.

When to call 911

Call 911 immediately if you have:

  • Chest pain

  • Heart palpitations (this is when your heart is beating too hard or too fast)

  • Blurred or double vision

  • Dizziness

  • Metallic taste

  • Ringing in the ears
